Club SciKidz’s summer camps provide an exciting and safe atmosphere for children, while exploring the world of science. All of our staff take the job of teaching and caring for children seriously! All Club SciKidz staff must commit to work 3-6 full weeks (Mon-Fri) of the summer camp season, which begins 6/12/23 and ends 7/28/23. All staff will complete a mandatory, comprehensive, hands-on paid training program scheduled on June 8&9, 2023 in Plano, TX. All of our staff members are background checked. Topics for the training will include:
- Camper safety
- Emergency response
- Curriculum expertise
- Classroom management
- Camper-to-camper relationships
- Fostering self-esteem
- Implementation of lesson plans and projects
- Science inquiry skills
- Process skills
- Training for all outdoor activities
- Sexual abuse awareness and prevention
- Protecting the Club SciKidz brand

JOB DESCRIPTIONS
Camp Counselors
Our Camp Counselors must have successfully completed at least one year of college, and be enrolled for the following fall semester. Current school teachers or school staff also make fabulous camp counselors! We only hire camp counselors that will demonstrate a love for children, and will protect our respected Club SciKidz brand.
Camp Counselors are directly responsible for camper safety and learning, in a ratio of 1 counselor to 10 campers. Counselors are role models for our campers and will take this job seriously by providing positive and friendly interactions with the campers in an environment that allows the campers to feel safe, comfortable, and excited about science! Therefore, Camp Counselors (along with meeting the criteria listed above) must be HIGHLY energetic and demonstrate that they too are enjoying the camp experience!
Weekly salary starts at $475! If you are a certified educator in TX, weekly salary starts at $550!
Jr. Camp Counselor
Are you a high school or college student who wants to work at a camp but doesn’t yet meet the minimum requirements to be a Counselor? The Jr. Camp Counselor role is perfect for you! At a minimum you must have completed your sophomore year of high school and be reenrolled for the next school year.
Jr. Counselors work in a support role for camp counselors. Junior counselors act as an “extra set of eyes & hands” in classrooms and at the playground/gym while also being role models for our campers. Jr. Counselors must take this job seriously by providing a positive and friendly interaction with campers while keeping them focused on the task at hand. The Jr. Counselor will float between classrooms as needed to assist counselors with particularly technical lessons where lots of assembly is required (ie robot/rocket assembly, helping during messy science experiments, assisting with dissections), or any lesson where a counselor needs an extra set of hands. During the pickup/dropoff/outdoor portions of the day, the Jr. Counselor will monitor & manage campers and ensure safety.
These individuals must be energetic and have a “can-do!” attitudes at all times as they help campers have a great experience at camp. A smile and upbeat personality are a must! This is great experience and will prepare you well for the Counselor role!
Weekly salary is $400-$450.

Camp Director’s Assistant
This individual will be a high school student (minimum 3 years completed) or college student who will work directly with the camp directors. Their main duties will consist of receiving parents at the front desk, monitoring campers in the halls, monitoring restrooms to prevent overcrowding by campers, periodic cleaning/disinfecting of public areas, and helping directors with other administrative duties to keep the camp running smoothly. Duties also include supervision of campers for short periods of time and helping ensure that all campers remain safe during the camp day.
These individuals must have “can-do!” attitudes at all times as they assist the directors in the operation of the camp. A smile and upbeat personality are a must!
Weekly Salary is $400-$450

Camp Directors
Our Camp Directors, known as “Site Directors,” are responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the Camp Location, including the supervision of all camp counselors and campers. Directors, along with meeting the criteria listed above, must have experience in leadership and risk management.
Camp Directors will be accountable for following Club SciKidz’s guidelines for operation as well as respecting and protecting the Club SciKidz brand. Camp Directors will report to the Summer Area Director and to the owners of Club SciKidz Dallas.
All Director candidates must have a bachelor’s degree, at least 1 year of experience as a classroom teacher, submit to a background check, be able to complete CPR/First Aid training, and be able to commit to the multiple week camp program at the location you have been assigned.
All camp director candidates must attend our 3 day paid training session! Weekly Salary depends upon experience.
