How do I sign up for camp?
All of our registrations are completed online. We do not accept registrations done via mail, the phone, in person or at a camp location. Please note that the deadline for registering for a camp is Thursday before camp starts. You may click here to begin registration: https://www.clubscikidzdallas.com/enroll/
What if I want to register but my child will not be four until this summer?
If your child is only 3 years old at this time and will not be four until this summer, we will accept their registration as long as they will be entering PreK in the fall. Please note that children going into PK3 classes in the fall (three year olds) or that turn 4 years old after the summer are not eligible.
Can friends and siblings be placed in the same group?
If friends and siblings want to be in the same group, please make sure that they are registered for the same week at the same location and in the same camp. Please note that we can not discuss another camper’s schedule. Please confirm their status with their parent directly.
When does Summer Camp registration close?
Registration closes at 11:59 PM the Thursday night before the camp week starts, and camps will not show up after this time. All account changes after this must be made in writing to hello@clubscikidzdallas.com.
How do I subscribe to your email list?
You can subscribe to our mailing list by using the below form. Please note that you will receive a confirmation email that you must respond to, in order to confirm your subscription:
What should my camper bring to camp?
Each camper should bring a lunch, snacks and drinks each day. Since we have an outdoor component ,a water bottle is advisable. Sunscreen and hat is recommended. Please see our policy and waiver concerning the application of sunscreen under our FAQ Risk Management category. Use of electronic devices are not allowed during camp hours.
Will my child receive a camp T-shirt?
Each camper will receive one T-shirt with each week they register for camp. T-shirts ARE required to be worn each day of camp. Additional shirts can be ordered at the time of registration or purchased on site through the Site Director. They are currently $12.
After check-in on Monday morning of camp the campers will receive their t-shirt(s) in their classroom.
Our family’s vacation does not allow my child to attend for the entire week. Can they attend for part of the week?
While we feel that in order to gain the most from their camp experience students should be present each day of camp, we do understand that scheduling conflicts do occur. Please be aware that we do not prorate for the days your child is present and full tuition is required regardless of your child’s attendance.
What if I am trying to register and the camp I want my child to attend has reached its camper limit?
If the camp is full, it will be marked as “WAITLIST” when you try to register. You will have the option of being placed on the waiting list for FREE. At this point you do have the capability of choosing another camp that has space.
Safety Management
What general safety measures do you have in place?
Safety is our number one goal at Club SciKidz. All of our campers are supervised 100% of the time. We try to keep our ratio as close to 10:1 as possible (less depending on camp class registration)and with 2 site directors on campus. Each camp location has a number of staff that are trained in CPR and First Aid. There is also a first aid kit available.
All staff go through emergency and crisis management training. Staff are never allowed to be alone with children.
All staff are thoroughly background checked and receive training on sexual abuse awareness training.
How is the pick-up process from summer camp secure?
Safety is our top priority and we do everything we can to have a safe, fun and secure camp. During registration, you will create a unique 4 digit PIN for your family.
Please note that if you wish to have another family member or friend pickup your child from camp then they must present or know the code as well.
What if someone else will pickup or dropoff my child?
If you wish to have another family member or friend pickup your child from camp then they must present or know the security code for your child. You do not have to add them to a pickup list as only you know the code.
How does Club SciKidz deal with the summer heat?
Safety measures include:
- Children at all camp sites will have regular access to water fountains or drinking water taps. Campers should remember to bring their own water bottles and to fill up throughout the day.
- Club SciKidz counselors will plan lower activity games/activities when the sun is the strongest and will take advantage of shaded areas throughout the day;
- If sunscreen is packed with camper, counselor will allow time and provide reminders for application.
- Campers will be outside for no more than 30 minutes during the peak heat of the day.
Sunscreen Waiver
Please see the below form needed to complete if you want Club SciKidz to apply sunscreen to your camper, while at camp:
What are the requirements and where do you recruit your staff from?
Our pledge is to put your children in the company of the most trustworthy and capable young adults we can hire-counselors who are well suited to the task of caring for campers. The effort we put into screening and selecting our staff is part of that pledge. Our staff work with your children in the context off a visible, well scrutinized environment that has many built-in checks and balances. Counselors are supervised by the Camp Directors guided by clear, firm policies regarding behavior. Their actions are visible to co-workers and campers.
All of our camp directors are certified teachers currently working in the classroom. Our college instructors come from the best local and out-of-state universities and colleges. Each employee experiences an intense background and reference check. Our goal is to hire as many science, math, engineering, computer science and education majors as we can.
We do not hire CITs or high school students. All college instructors must have completed their freshman year and be enrolled for fall classes.
All staff are thoroughly background checked and receive training on sexual abuse awareness training.
How do you train your employees?
Employees receive extensive training before the camp season begins. The training includes Club SciKidz’s Camp Staff Training Package, where we provide frontline staff with foundational knowledge in the areas of camp-centered leadership, creating community, reducing injuries and illness, bullying prevention, risk management, and recognizing and reporting child abuse.
What is your camper to staff ratio?
We try to keep our ratio as close to 10:1 as possible. We realize that smaller classes allow campers additional one-on-one attention. Many of our programs are designed to accommodate both beginners and advanced learners.
Do you have insurance?
Club SciKidz camps are blanketed with a variety of insurance policies.
What is your medication policy?
If your child has to be given medications at camp you must fill out our medical form and take that form to camp on the first day. All medications must be given to our Camp Director at check-in. The medication must be in original containers that identify the prescribing physician (if a prescription drug), the name of the medication, the dosage and the frequency of administration. The medication will be dispensed as instructed by you. This policy also includes Epi-Pens. Campers are not allowed to hold onto their Epi-Pens.
Can I get a tour of the camp facility before my child’s week of camp starts?
Unfortunately, we do not move into our camp facilities until the weekend before our session begins, so tours are not available. Once camp is in session, we are unable to offer tours due to the safety and security measures in place for our campers. If you have any questions about specific facility concerns, please contact us at hello@clubscikidzdallas.com.
Can I observe a camp day or sit in on my child’s class?
Club SciKidz does not permit non-campers (parents or unregistered students) to sit in on courses. We require all of our employees to undergo thorough background and reference checks. We understand that parents are very interested in what their children are doing at camp and have therefore created our Family Day event. Family Day takes place on Friday afternoon to provide parents with an opportunity to view their camper’s projects and get a better understanding of their child’s camp experience.
Food/Special Needs
Are Club SciKidz camps appropriate for children with special needs?
Club SciKidz instructors are trained to handle special circumstances to a limited extent. We have found that if children are able to function without an aide or assistance at school, they generally do very well at camp. If your child does require an aide or other assistance at school, you must ensure that an aide accompanies your child to camp. All aides must be at least 18 years of age and not related to the camper. Over the years we have had many children with special needs and they usually do very well. However, if for some reason it is determined that camp is not a suitable for your child, the total tuition for camp is non-refundable per our cancellation policy. Please call us if you have any additional questions. 214-530-5979
Do you provide any meals or snacks at your camps?
Club SciKidz does not provide any food service to campers. Parents should be sure to pack a snack and drink for the morning and lunch and a drink for the lunch hour. In addition, if your child is enrolled in the Post Camp services it is advisable to pack an extra drink and snack.
What if my child has specific allergy or health needs?
On the online registration form, please list all allergies and medications that need to be administered. You may bring any medications the first day of camp with written instructions describing frequency and dosage. The medical authorization form must be brought the first day of camp. Medications must be provided in their original containers.
Epi-Pens must be given to the Camp Director on Monday mornings. Epi Pens are not allowed to be kept in the camper’s classroom or on the person of the camper. In extreme allergy situations the camp counselor will have access to the Pen in their classroom.
Please keep in mind that we are a nut-free zone.

Are there any scholarships available?
Every year Club SciKidz Dallas makes available a number of scholarships for our camps with our Shelby Jean scholarship program. These are 100% scholarships to families that need assistance providing the camp experience for their children.
Please view the below file for all of the information needed to apply. One scholarship per family please!
All applications are due by March 1 and the recipients will be notified via email by April 1.
What are the age/grade requirements of your camps?
Our current camp offerings are for rising grades PK-7th. Please note that children entering PK3 in the fall are not eligible to attend, as our PreK & Kindergarten camps are designed for 4 and 5 year olds (Must be 4 before the summer camp season).
Club SciKidz carefully considers the grade range for each course as we receive feedback from our instructors, parents, and campers. Our policy is to allow you to take a course for the rising grade level your child will reach when they start the following school year.
Example: If you see a course for grades 1-3 and your child is currently in second grade and will be a third grader by the fall, you can register your child for that course.
Can you make an exception to your age requirements?
Since we have taken into account many considerations in matching our age groups and camp themes, we generally like to adhere to those requirements. Please remember that an age group contains not only a certain intellectual and skill set, but also a certain level of social maturity. These requirements allow Club SciKidz to meet the needs of each camper.
Please be aware of our refund policy. Transferring after the week of camp has started, to a different camp due to age appropriateness or skill level, must take place within that same week of camp and is contingent on available room in the newly desired camp. There is also a $10 transfer fee for all camp transfers.
What are the hours of the camp?
The camp hours are from 9:00am to 4:00pm. You may drop off your child no earlier than 9:00am and pickup no later than 4:00pm unless you have paid for the Pre or Post camp services.
Half-Day campers are to be picked up at 1:00pm as there is no Post camp services available for them,
Do you provide Pre and Post camp services?
We have extended day services at all of our locations. The cost is $25.00 per week for Pre Camp, which starts at 8:00 am Post Camp services are from 4:00pm – 5:30 pm (with the exception of our TCA location which ends at 5pm) and cost $35.00 dollars per week. We are able to accept checks and cash at our camp locations to pay for t-shirts and extended day services only.
Waitlist Policy
The camp I want is full, is there a waitlist?
YES! It’s free to register your child for the waitlist.
How do I add my child to a camp’s waitlist?
Follow the prompts on our registration page to complete the “checkout” process (no payment is required). You’ll immediately receive a confirmation email after checkout is complete. If you don’t receive this, check your junk/spam folder first, and then contact us at hello@clubscikidzdallas.com if you still can’t locate it.
What are the odds that my child will get a spot in a camp?
Unfortunately, there is no way for us to predict the likelihood of a spot becoming available for your child in a specific camp. Some camps have multiple spots become available over the course of the spring/summer, and other camps never have a spot open up. There’s no rhyme or reason to it! Last summer, over 50 campers were registered from the waitlists.
When will I know if my child got a spot in the camp?
We’ll contact you immediately if something opens up for your child. Unfortunately, we don’t know when this might happen. It may be months before camp starts, or it might be days (or even hours!) before the camp begins. If you haven’t heard from us, assume that nothing is available yet, and keep your fingers crossed!
I have 2 children on one camp’s waitlist. Will two spots open up?
Typically, spots become available one at a time. We will let you know if one spot is available and you can decide how to proceed. If you enroll one child, there is no guarantee that a spot will open up in that camp for the other child.
Can you tell me what position in line my child is on the waitlist?
Because of the constant activity on the waitlists (we are adding and/or removing names daily), and that fact that most campers are on multiple waitlists at a time, we are unable to tell you exactly where you fall on the list. It’s always changing!
Can you tell me if my friend’s child is on a specific waitlist?
Unfortunately, due to privacy concerns, we cannot discuss other campers’ registration details. Please coordinate registration details with your friend.
What happens when a spot becomes available for my child?
Here’s where it gets complicated- it depends on when the spot becomes available.
If there is more than a week until the camp’s start date, we will call & email you. Make sure your best contact info is up to date in your Active account! We’ll give you a set period of time to contact us if you want the spot. If we don’t hear from you, your child will be removed from that waitlist, and the spot will be offered to the next child in line.
If there is one week (or less) until the camp’s start date, we may email the entire waitlist to see who’s available, and then award the spot according to position on the waitlist. Make sure our emails aren’t ending up in your junk/spam folder!
If your child is registered for a spot from a waitlist, payment is due in full when the registration is processed. You may pay via credit card over the phone, or by logging in to your Active account.
My child is on a waitlist but is now unavailable to attend that camp. What do I need to do?
Please notify us at hello@clubscikidzdallas.com and we’ll remove your child from the waitlist.

Post Camp Questions
What is your tax ID#?
Please note that this number is on your registration confirmation email. Please keep this confirmation for your records. This can act as a receipt for your flexible spending account or child care tax credit. If you lose your receipt please go to the Family Account link on our Home Page and login to retrieve a new one.
Can I receive a tax write off when I register my child for summer camp?
If you’re registering a student under the age of 13 and they’re attending a day camp this summer, you may be able to apply paid tuition toward child and dependent care credit.
This is what the IRS website says.
“The cost of day camp can count as an expense towards the child and dependent care credit. Expenses for overnight camps do not qualify. The credit is generally 20% to 35% of non-reimbursed expenses; up to $3000 in expenses for one child and up to $6000 for two or more children. The actual credit is also based on your income.”
Please note: Club SciKidz does not offer tax advice. Consult your accountant or tax professional before filing. Your employer may have established a Flexible Spending Account, consult your HR Department to see if your plan covers day camps.
