What does my child need to bring for Minecraft camps?

November 21, 2016 by

Camp “Adventures in Minecraft Game Design” (1st-3rd Graders) & Camp “Master Minecraft Coder” (4th-7th Graders)

All Minecraft campers are required to have an account for this camp.  The correct game account to purchase is Minecraft: JAVA EDITION™ ($26.95) HERE.  You may need to setup a free Microsoft account as part of the purchase process.  We apologize for any inconvenience but this is Minecraft’s requirement, not ours.

Campers must bring their desktop account login (username & password) when they come to camp.  We recommend writing it on a piece of paper and putting it in their backpack or lunchbox, where they know to look.

**The “Minecraft: JAVA EDITION” is NOT the same Minecraft game account that your camper uses on iPads, consoles like XBOX, or mobile devices.  We use the Java Edition in our camp curriculum, which is designed for desktops.  Campers generally discover that they like Minecraft: JAVA EDITION better than the mobile versions because there is more functionality and creativity in the game.  Minecraft is owned by Microsoft and they require you to purchase a separate account for different game editions.
