What general safety measures do you have in place?

October 12, 2014 by

Safety is our number one goal at Club SciKidz.  We can’t have fun doing science unless our campers are safe!!

All of our campers are supervised 100% of the time (except while in the restroom). We try to keep our ratio at 10 campers:1 counselor (or 9:1 for the PreK & Kinder campers)and with 1-2 site directors on campus at all times.  Each camp location has a number of staff that are trained in CPR and First Aid. There is also a first aid kit available, as well as personal protective equipment.

All staff go through emergency and crisis management training, as well as basic classroom behavior management. Staff are never allowed to be alone with children.  Campers are required to abide by the “buddy rule” so that they are never alone on a campus.

All staff are thoroughly background checked and receive training on sexual abuse awareness and prevention.
